SOIL BIOLOGY FIELD GATHERING

WHAT: A hands-on Soil Biology Field Day for ranchers and farmers with Robby Gass looking at microscopy and making biodynamic preparation 500

WHERE: The Queen of Peace Monastery

We are meeting below the monastery in the enclosed gardens by the labyrinth.

 

TIME: Arrive by 1:30 pm

 

BRING: lawn chairs. Hats, sunglasses. Setting up for lunch

 

POTLUCK LUNCH: 1:45. Bring bowls, cups and cutlery. Water. Food to share. 

 

SACRED DANCE: 3:00 pm followed by an Equinox celebration. 

 

ENDING TIME:  4:00 pm

BURYING BIODYNAMIC PREPARATIONS

 

WHEN: Thursday, September 25. 2025

 

WHERE:

The Queen of Peace Monastery

TIME: 11:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Preparations will be buried in the earth. 502 - Yarrow, 503 - Chamomile, 505 - Oak and 506 - Dandelion.

 

Bring your lunch, bowl and cutlery.

 

We will bury the preparations 502, 503, 505 and 506. Conversations about the BD preparations.

Spring

In April, we host a workshop where we make biodynamic preparations, host our annual general meeting, and share in a potluck dinner together.

 

Fall

In October, we make biodynamic preperations and bury them including: 500, 502, 503, 504, & 505. We dig out some 501 & 506 and share a potluck meal together.

For many years now, Wagg Creek Park has been the home of our festivals throughout the year.

For a place to be, to become a home, somebody needs to fill it with love and imagination, prepare the

space and invite others to join. This somebody is Ruth Tschannen and thanks to her we had these magic

gatherings.

We gather every year in the spring for an Annual General Meeting (AGM). Next AGM May 2025.

 

Description of AGM 2024

Annual General Meeting of the Biodynamic Agriculture Society of British Columbia was held May 13, 2024 at Queen of the Peace Monastery, Squamish Valley, BC.

 

We explored biodynamic preparations, shared our harvests with a meal, walked the labyrinth, got business done, and took in the sanctuary of the monastary. It was a beautiful time of gathering, connecting, sharing, learning, and planning.
